Good god, I'm so annoyed...I don't know what it is. I was in a so-so mood, for a Tuesday, and all of a sudden this wave of annoyance/anger came over me. I'm at my computer doing work stuff, all la la la in my mind, and then Bam! an annoying old memory hit me.

I wish it stopped there. Once I get angry about one thing, the dam (of calm, or self-control, or whatever) bursts and all of my little angry thoughts come out. And then I'm like, I hate YOU and YOU and YOOOOU!!!

*Sigh*...maybe it's the economy. I have money in savings but the checking account is much lower than I'm comfortable with. People need to pay me. Time to get my crowbar out of the closet.

Okay, fine, I don't own a crowbar. Maybe I can borrow one.

The 2008/2009 ski craze has begun! Yesterday I bought these jackets online:

The red one was originally $350, the green one $400. After a couple of discounts piled on top of their sale prices, I paid $120 for the red one, and $168 for the green one. That's 66% and 58% off, respectively!

I don't intend to keep both--I just couldn't decide between the two so I thought I'd try them on and see. I hope I at least like one of them.

I still want these, but they're still a bit pricey:

Is it too early to buy? I'm finally seeing this available for purchase on a few websites, but my previous post about these skis still shows up on page 2 in a Google search. (At least it's no longer on the first page, at #3.)

I also want to buy a new pair of goggles since my current pair doesn't work well in the afternoon when the sun's starting to set. I'd like to switch out the lens, but I don't think they have that feature.

**Update: I just got the jackets today, and I like both of them. Crap--what do I do?!

Bally is such a shit hole. Yesterday, they didn't have any AC for forty of the fifty minutes I could stand to be there. In addition to the place being hot because of the lack of AC, everyone's combined sweatiness and body heat just turned the gym into a sauna. I thought I could handle the heat, since I've been improving on the intensity of my workouts, but at one point (the point where I stopped), I totally felt like throwing up and then passing out.

On my way home I was looking forward to seeing P, but once I got to my apartment I noticed he wasn't there. I was a little bummed, and then I saw two boxes of pizza on my dining table, along with a box of chicken wings. I poured myself some Hawaiian Punch and started eating. It was so good! One pie had pineapple and bacon, the other had sausage and tomatoes, and there was ranch dressing to go with the chicken. But after ten minutes of eating I was suddenly struck by a thought. It was all too perfect--the two pizza pies, the chicken, Hawaiian Punch, and the Olympics...have I died and gone to heaven? Maybe I wasn't in my apartment, happily munching away. Maybe I really did puke and pass out at the gym--oh no!

Yeah, I got over it after about ten seconds. I think I just scared myself since I'd never had a "died and gone to heaven" moment til then.

I've heard that it's a bad idea to shop online late at night, but my mind was totally in the right place when I bought this thing at 3 AM:

Okay, fine--it may not an exciting purchase (to you) but I'm pretty excited about it. It's got a thermal carafe, so I can't break the pot like I did last time, and a gold-tone filter (so no more paper filters) plus a Brita water filter. Yay! May we live happily together and produce lots of delicious pots of coffee forever and ever and ever.

Seriously, is there such a thing as the weakling gene? I swear, some people not only let themselves get pushed around--they seem perfectly content being told what to do, and when, and how, and...it seems all they care about is satisfying the other person. Some might say that that's selflessness, that's love--I don't think so. I think some people cling to the happiness and approval of their significant others like child would a security blanket. Just keep that person happy, and he/she will never leave them. But doesn't that get so exhausting? For both people?

So the Whistler trip happened almost two months ago, but I'm finally posting some photos!

A little belated, but happy New Year!

I mulled over everything that happened in 2007, and here's a short end-of-the-year tally:

Countries visited: 2

Apartments gained: 1

Promotion notifications: 2

Family members gained: 1

Friends engaged: 3

Weddings attended: 3

New stuff (gifts and purchases): skis, bindings, poles, ski boots, ski bag and boot bag, queen-size mattress, silverware, microwave oven, iron, pots and pans, paper shredder, Motorola Krzr, North Face boots and mittens and more

2007 turned out to be unpredictable, and it ended with a bang--right down to the last couple hours! I'm really looking forward to 2008 and so far it's been a tad overwhelming...but in a good way, thankfully.
